Te Reo Maori

Maori are the indeginous people of Aotearoa New Zealand and lived here for hundreds of years before the Europeans arrived in Aotearoa.
This blog post is about Maori sentence starters used in Te Reo (the language of the Maori people).
Here are my sentences with the translations.

Kei te oma ahau ki te moana.
I am running to the sea.

Kei te hikoi ahau ki te whare a Ethan.
I am walking to Ethan's house.

Kei te hikoi ahau.
I am walking.

Kei te kanikani ahua ki te waiata.
I am dancing to the song.

I have used the words 'kei te' at the start of each sentence. 'Kei te' is the Maori sentence starter used for sentences containing verbs. The words 'run', 'walk' and 'kanikani' are verbs used after the te reo starter words.
